DISCOVERING THE WORLD OF THE WORLD OF WILDLIFE ANIMALS – SUMMER 2013

The GreenViet Biodiversity conservation center in cooperation with the Danang Green Tree Park company has established the “Discovering the world of wildlife animals – Summer 2013” program at Danang zoo in 29/3 Park from 07/27/2013 to 10/13/2013.

The most successful part is that GreenViet supported in installing 10 information boards about 10 endangered species (4 monkeys, 2 crocodiles, 1 Nycticebus pygmaeus, 1 Python molurus, 1 Arctictis binturong, 1 deer) which are being bred in the park. These boards help provide the scientific information and conservation status of the wildlife animals keeping here to meet the visitor demands in education, knowledge, and sight-seeing.

In addition, the employees and volunteers of GreenViet also organized several free activities for visitors such as free zoo guide, animal pictures coloring and painting, animal identifying games, 2D, and 3D animals’ model building. Furthermore, there was also a display of the products for wildlife conservation communication purposes including the Red-shanked Douc T-Shirts, memory game boxes with the images of 30 endangered species in Vietnam.

During the operation period, the event attracted approximately 300 arrivals a day (this figure only was counted from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm). The visitors had shown satisfaction about these activities conducted here and also expressed their thoughts and opinions about the wildlife conservation by filling survey forms that GreeViet designed.

By doing this, GreenViet has desired to contribute more to the awareness rising among the local community in Danang and improve the animal breeding condition in the zoo in the long run.
