THE DAY OF “PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT TOGETHER”
800 students at Hoa Tien 1 Primary School, Hoa Vang district participated in activities such as learning knowledge about sustainably environmental protection, photo exhibiting about biodiversity, and incorporating building “Green school”.
On Saturday, September 24th, 2016, Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Hoa Vang District, GreenViet in collaboration with Department of Education and Training of Hoa Vang District and Hoa Tien 1 Primary School organized the Day of “protecting environment together” including following activities: knowledge for students about sustainably environmental protection, photo exhibition about biodiversity, and incorporation of these activities into building “Green school”.
The objectives of the program are to raise awareness of environmental protection for students by taking actions such as planting and caring of trees, putting garbage at the prescribed places, no littering… and to help them understand more about biodiversity, particularly about The Red-shanked douc langur – which is listed in the Vietnam Red Book and is now preserved at Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang, as well as has been considered the symbol of biodiversity of our city.
The day’s activities included organizing a competition on knowing about the environment and an exhibition on the theme of Biodiversity for primary school students.
The opening activity began at 7 am with the participation of 800 students of Hoa Tien 1 Primary School with their teachers and other related units. The students participated in many activities to learn about protecting the environment and biodiversity resources such as fashion show with clothes made from recycled materials such as plastic bags, newspapers, leaves, etc; presentations about environmental protection; dancing and singing about protecting habitats; and the game show “Ring the douc’s tail” held by GreenViet for students to learn about the population of The Red-shanked douc langur in Son Tra Peninsula.

In this program, there was also an art exhibition of environmental protection with paintings made by students and a photo exhibition of the population of the Red-shanked douc langur in Son Tra Peninsula.
After the program at Hoa Tien 1 Primary School, follow-up activities of the chain activities in response to the campaign “Making the world cleaner” of the People’s Committee of Hoa Vang District will be taken place in Le Kim Lang Primary School, Hoa Chau ward, Hoa Vang district.

In response to the “Making the world cleaner” campaign under the guidance of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in Official Letter No. 3807/BTNMT-TCMT dated 05/9/2016 and to incorporate the campaign “Green – Clean – Beautiful Sunday”, People’s Committee of Hoa Vang district issued a plan to organize activities in response to the campaign to make the world cleaner in Hoa Vang district in 2016.
The theme of the campaign “Making the world cleaner” in 2016 is “Take Action for green and sustainable urban areas”, which is to emphasize the important role of environmental protection of urban areas, towards a green and sustainable Vietnam. Response time is from 20/09/2016 to 1/10/2016.
The objectives of the campaign:
Through the campaign “Making the world cleaner” and incorporating the campaign “Green – Clean – Beautiful Sunday”, we aim to call for people to continually response and participate in environmental protection activities by specific and practical actions to address issues of environmental pollution on roads, in residential areas, public parks, industrial complex, etc… within the district.
Creating the coordination between government agencies, unions, businesses, and the whole community in contributing to the district’s efforts of environmental protection activities.
Responsive activities have to direct or contribute to solve the urgent environmental problems, hot spots of pollution in the local, and contribute to the effective implementation of the peak month “The Year 2016 of cultural and civilized town”.
