    In General: The project “Establishing a funding foundation for biodiversity protection and environmental sustainability in Danang City, Vietnam” (in short, the “Conservation Fund” project) aims to establish the Vietnam Wildlife Conservation Fund in order to mobilise funding sources and increase the capacity of local CSOs focusing on biodiversity conservation and environmental protection initiatives in Central and Central Highland, Vietnam. This project is implemented by GreenViet (Vietnam) – the lead and Gustav-Stresemann-Institut (GSI, Germany) and co-funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam.

  1. I. STRATEGY
    1. Contribute to the development of the project fundraising strategy, with a specific focus on individuals and businesses;
    2. Work with the Project Manager to plan, implement and measure impact of donor engagement strategies;
    3. Support the Development team to recruit and work with board members and advisors, who will act as advocates for new fundraising initiatives and open doors to new income streams;
    4. Regularly report on fundraising outputs or the impact of particular fundraising initiatives to the staff and board;
    5. Keep up-to-date with trends in fundraising opportunities and best practice and recommend changes in our funding strategies;
    6. Contribute to the general morale and direction of the project, help to support other staff in their work and contribute ideas and feedback to the team.

    II. INCOME GENERATION

    1. Sustain and grow income from individual donors in line with agreed targets;

  2. 2. Identify and research potential donors for project EU and work alongside the Director and Project Manager to develop relationships with potential donors;3. Process individual donations, including recording donations, thanking supporters in a timely fashion and responding to ad hoc supporter queries;

    4. Ensure high quality ongoing communication to maintain and develop supportive relationships with potential and existing donors, which will lead to an increase in longer term individual giving;

    5. Organise engagement events and fundraising events;

         III. DONOR DATA MANAGEMENT

  1. 1. Ensure that individual donor contacts and activity are accurately recorded on our donor database;2. Support other staff members to confidently use Salesforce within their work. Trusts, foundations and corporate support

    3. Support the Project Manager on making funding applications to trusts and foundations;

    4. Work with the project Manager to implement the project fundraising policy so that GreenViet can respond appropriately to fundraising approaches by companies.

    IV. TECHNICCAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

  • Essential
    – Experience of managing relationships with partners
    – Experience of organising fundraising events; and, communication for fund-raising activities
    – Experience of running appeals and developing fundraising materials;
    – Ability to write persuasive content to encourage support;
    – High standard of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, databases);
    – Understanding of data protection regulations; of the functioning of CSR/CSV in businesses
  • Desirable
    – Experience of fundraising, ideally from institutions, trusts and/or foundations
    – Knowledge and understanding of biodiversity conservation- Project management experience
    – Understanding of fundraising from trusts and foundations;
    – Working knowledge level of English or higher (verbal and written)
