INSPIRING LOVE FOR AND PROTECTION OF NATURE AT SIX SENSES NINH VAN BAY
Nestled on the Hon Heo Peninsula, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is not only renowned for its architecture in harmony with nature and its world-class hospitality, but also stands out as a model of sustainable tourism closely linked to nature conservation.

For many years, GreenViet has partnered with Six Senses Ninh Van Bay to conduct research, education, and communication activities that raise awareness of the conservation of the black-shanked douc langur and the biodiversity of the Hon Heo Peninsula. Within this partnership, various experiential learning programs have been designed for guests, helping them build a deeper connection with nature.
In just the first six months of 2025, around 117 guests joined the Langur Discovery program – a guided trekking journey led by GreenViet researchers to observe the black-shanked douc langur in its natural habitat. In addition, about 97 guests took part in specialized activities such as Langur Talk, Flora Walk, Snake Talk, and Nature Hike, where they were provided with hands-on knowledge about native flora and fauna and their ecological importance.
Through these activities, every guest not only experiences the pristine beauty of the Hon Heo Peninsula but also gains a deeper awareness of the value of biodiversity – the ecological foundation that defines the unique character of this region.
Beyond guest-focused programs, GreenViet and Six Senses Ninh Van Bay also emphasize wildlife education for schoolchildren and local communities. Since the beginning of the year, the resort has organized two environmental education programs for students from local schools, including a field trip for 26 students and teachers from Happy Village School. Guided by GreenViet staff, the students joined hands-on forest lessons to learn about the forest ecosystem, the black-shanked douc langur, and threats to the environment. These activities not only offered meaningful experiences but also nurtured a love for nature and inspired environmental stewardship from an early age.

Another highlight of this partnership is capacity building and conservation awareness for the staff of Six Senses Ninh Van Bay – those who connect with guests on a daily basis. In the first half of the year, 62 staff members participated in six in-house conservation activities, including:
-
An introductory session on biodiversity and the black-shanked douc langur for new staff and interns, providing an overview of forest ecology, rare species of Hon Heo, and ongoing conservation efforts at the resort;
-
Forest treks and beach clean-ups in celebration of Earth Day (April 22) and World Environment Day (June 5);
-
A workshop on native plants offering practical knowledge about their roles and ecological values.

All activities were supported by GreenViet biodiversity officers, ensuring that staff received conservation knowledge in an engaging way while becoming “green ambassadors” – helping to inspire guests to care for and protect nature.

The partnership between GreenViet and Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is a compelling example of collaboration between businesses and social organizations in advancing nature conservation and sustainable tourism. By integrating conservation into tourism, education, and internal operations, the two partners have created an effective model where science, emotions, and community action come together for the shared goal of safeguarding the living forests.
