20 Journeys to bring 240 vulnerable children closer to Son Tra Nature Reserve
Let’s join hands with GeenViet to fulfill the dream of reconnecting with nature and watching wildlife animal for 240 children facing difficult and vulnerable situations.
Through 20 “I love Son Tra” journeys, 240 children will:
• Immerse yourself in the fresh air of the forests of Son Tra Nature Reserve
• Discover the beauty, diversity and marvels of the fauna and flora
• Acquire survival skills in the wild
• Observe the Red-shanked douc langur, known as the world’s primate queen
• Cultivate in children an appreciation for nature’s beauty, value, and significance to humanity
• Foster children’s affinity and reverence for nature, fueling their curiosity to explore the natural realm, and collaborating to safeguard nature and the environment
How to organize: The journey “I love Son Tra” will be held for 04 hours on Son Tra Peninsula, each journey has 12 students participating and will be directly guided by educational staff and conservation experts of GreenViet. The time to organize the trip is from February to September 2025.
Activities in the program include:
• 16-seat bus picks up students at schools/GreenViet centre
• Visit the first Nature Education Center in Da Nang City
• Learn some safety precautions when experiencing the wild
• Learn to be a little scientist: Learn how to use binoculars and magnifying glasses to explore nature
• Walk through the Son Tra forest, breathe in the fresh air, and explore the diversity of flora and fauna
• Listen to the story about the Red-shanked douc langur, search for and observe this species directly in the wild
• Conquer Ban Co Peak, enjoy the views of Son Tra and Da Nang city
• Sharing circle and lessons from the I love Son Tra journey, receiving souvenir gifts from the trip.
