SUPPORTING NATURE EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS WITH THE DANANG NATURE EDUCATION KIT AND RESOURCES
To promote local biodiversity education, the GreenViet Center has launched a program providing teaching kits and instructional materials to secondary and high schools in Da Nang City. The program aims to support teachers in bringing nature knowledge closer to students in an engaging and effective way through the provision of interactive teaching tools and online resources.

The educational kit is specially designed for students from lower secondary school level and above. It includes a mascot costume representing the Red-shanked douc langur—a biological symbol of the Son Tra Peninsula—alongside biology-themed jigsaw puzzles, color-by-number posters, and standees to aid lesson delivery. Additionally, the digital resource hub available on the Danang Nature Portal (www.thiennhiendanang.vn) serves as an open educational platform, offering age-appropriate visuals, data, and content tailored to students’ cognitive levels.

During March and April 2025, the program supported five schools, engaging approximately 5,200 students in learning about the brown-shanked douc langur, local wildlife, and the natural heritage of Da Nang.
Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thuỳ Linh (Nguyen Chi Thanh Secondary School) shared:
“Students are very excited to explore topics closely related to local nature. The educational tools and resources provided by GreenViet are highly compatible with our curriculum and easy to integrate into our lessons.”
Mr. Võ Phước Khánh (Ong Ich Khiem High School) also remarked:
“The materials are well-structured, visually engaging, and particularly easy to under current teaching conditions. The lesson plans are appropriately tailored to students’ learning levels and capacities.”

According to Ms. Ngô Thị Lành (Hermann Gmeiner School Da Nang):
“The kit is very user-friendly, promotes active student participation, and enhances retention. The students genuinely enjoy lessons conducted this way.”
Building on initial success, in 2025, GreenViet plans to expand support to an additional 30 schools across the city, helping integrate the nature education kit and materials into the formal curriculum. This effort aims to foster a teaching approach that incorporates biodiversity knowledge and nature conservation, thereby nurturing a generation of students who love nature, are aware of the value of biodiversity, and are ready to act for a sustainable future.
