THE 3RD NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE ON AMPHIBIANS AND REPTILES IN VIETNAM

The conference was held at the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources in Hanoi 26th November 2016 with the participation of more than 100 scientists from Vietnam and foreign countries who have been studying Amphibians – Reptiles in Vietnam.

In this 3rd conference, there was the participation of the leading scientists working in the field Amphibians – Reptiles across the country such as Assoc. Hoang Xuan Quang (Vinh University), Prof. Ngo Dac Chung (Hue University), Assoc. Le Nguyen Nhat (Hanoi National University of Education), Ph.D. Nguyen Van Sang, Ph.D. Nguyen Quang Truong, Ph.D. Nguyen Thien Tao (Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources), Ph.D. Hoang Thi Nghiep (Dong Thap University), Ph.D. Phan Van Anh (Tay Bac University), along with many well-known animal scientists such as Ph.D. Le Vu Khoi, Ph.D. Dang Huy Huynh, etc.

Within a working day, 16 studies were presented and discussed at the conference including the intensive studies of ecology, genetics, acoustics, etc. of Amphibians – Reptiles. Besides, an overall review and evaluation of data on Amphibians – Reptiles in Vietnam was given. Research orientation in the future, as well as approaches to promote international cooperation in doing amphibians – reptiles’ research in Vietnam, were also discussed.
